WoW Factor US-Lothar Alliance Follow-up

Lothar US gave the WoW Factor a taste of community spirit this week, as multiple individuals contributed to the prize package!

Evidently our sponsors had done an excellent job of advertising the event, as we arrived at the venue to find it near full a good thirty minutes before the designated start time. Our guest judge for the week, Gloomie, was already there when we arrived, checking out some of the outfits in advance. Gloomie, aka Coffin, was one of the top winners at the WoW Factor event on Stormreaver US Horde in early May.

Sponsorship of the event was an impressive collaborative effort on Lothar, with no less than eleven characters adding gold, pets and mounts to the pile of prizes. Their combined efforts brought the WoW Factor to Lothar, inspired a large number of people to participate or spectate, and provided a gigantic total prize fund of 235,000 gold!

Contributions were as follows:
Mythrius – 75,000, Cirux – 50,000, Keiriana – 35,000, Lavindin – 25,000, Catarisper – 15,000, Evilsanta – 5,000, Arbaris – 3,000, Ragetank – 2,000, and three anonymous sponsors who added a combined total of 25,000 between them.

A special nod goes to Mythrius, Cirux and Arbaris (seen to the right), for their hard work in organising and publicising the event, as well as adding a Vial of the Sands, Mekgineer’s Chopper and various whelpling pets onto the gold prizes.

You can follow along with the judges as we worked our way around the Lothar crowd, and check out pictures of some of the participants, via the following links.

Competition Outline

The Lothar event was divided into three rounds, the first being the so-called ‘Random Round’, where we awarded multiple prizes of various sizes. In the second round, judges selected ten characters to receive a larger gold prize, and then selected two among those ten to win the grand prizes in the third round.
