Rift Stalker Recolour

Rift Stalker Armor Recolour
Tier 5 Hunter Lookalike

Armor Type: Mail
Level Req.: 70
Source: BoP boss drops from Outland raid instances, one leatherworker crafted item and one boe
Availability: Time consuming to farm and requires assistance

How to get the set:
The recolour of the Hunter T5 set, the Rift Stalker Armor, is comprised of five items, four of which are distributed between Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep: The Eye. The fifth component, the boots, are specifically created by 375+ skill leatherworkers, using the Pattern: Boots of the Crimson Hawk, which drops randomly in Serpentshrine Cavern. Unfortunately, this item binds to its crafter, so only leatherworkers may wear it. There is however an alternative, which is documented below.

It is advisable to pursue this set as part of a small group or raid, even if you are maximum level, as some of the encounters from which the items drop are either extremely difficult or impossible to solo.

ShouldersMantle of the Tireless Tracker (BoP from Morogrim Tidewalker in Serpentshrine Cavern)
ChestRanger-General’s Chestguard (BoP from Hydross the Unstable in Serpentshrine Cavern)
WristsTrue-Aim Stalker Bands (BoP from Leotheras the Blind in Serpentshrine Cavern)
LegsVoid Reaver Greaves (BoP from Void Reaver in The Eye)
FeetBoots of the Crimson Hawk (BoP item crafted by leatherworkers of 375+ skill)

PolearmBleak Scythe (Random BoE world drop from Northrend creatures around level 80)

If you are not a leatherworker, there is an alternative pair of boots, Cobra-Lash Boots, from Lady Vashj in Serpentshrine Cavern, at a 15% drop rate. They share the same model as the Boots of the Crimson Hawk, but they are predominantly coloured blue, to match the real Rift Stalker Tier set. As such, the Cobra-Lash Boots aren’t a perfect match, but they’re better than nothing.

You can also buy the merc pvp set which looks the same, you can get the boots and gloves to match from a vendor on the ilse, I believe the boots are called veterans

  2. Tanvalis says:

What gloves would you recomend with this set? Needing to build a Mogging set and need to fill all the spots with nice looking gear.

  3. Inzy says:

Champion’s Gauntlets – match pretty well. Silver and leather. http://www.wowhead.com/item=7541#.

  4. InZanr says:

Thorbia’s Gauntlets seem to fit the pattern rather nicely for gloves for the set. Same brown/silver as the rest of the set.

I find that the Banded Chain Gloves (http://www.wowhead.com/item=35846) match this very well. It is a quest reward from Howling Fjord, though, which might be problematic if you leveled there.
