Haliscan Set

Armor Type: Cloth
Level Req.: 66
Source: Three items crafted by tailors and a boss drop/quest reward
Availability: Easily obtained

How to get the set:
The majority of this set, the chest, legs and boots, are created by tailors of 245-250 skill and greater. The recipes for all three items are available from Haughty Modiste in Tanaris.

There are two options for obtaining the matching hat, each of which is reasonably simple, but will require the player to be at least level 66 (the chest, legs and boots have no level requirements).

The first option, the Haliscan Brimmed Hat, is a reward from the quest Nice Hat…, which can be completed on the normal mode version of Old Hillsbrad Foothills. The alternative, Don Carlos’ Famous Hat, is a drop from the eponymous owner of the headpiece, who resides in Old Hillsbrad. The two hats are identical in appeance, so in that sense, it doesn’t matter which you choose. The quest itself is an interesting and humerous example of a self-perpetuating time loop, well worth doing, but the hat which drops from Don Carlos himself has the added functionality of an “on use” ability to summon a ghost wolf companion for a short time. Take your pick! (Actually, you can have both if you want).

Head – Haliscan Brimmed Hat (Obtained from the quest Nice Hat…)
Alternative Head – Don Carlos’ Famous Hat (Drop 100% of the time from Don Carlos in heroic Old Hillsbrad Foothills)
Chest – Haliscan Jacket (Crafted by tailors of 250 skill or greater)
Legs – Haliscan Pantaloons (Crafted by tailors of 245 skill or greater)
Feet – Dress Shoes (Crafted by tailors of 250 skill or greater)

remark : the hat’s look quiet … weird … on dwarfs. in fact it’s covering almost the upper half of the face !

Captain Sanders Sash would also compliment this attire as well 😉

I was curious about the Haliscan look so I googled it, and couldn’t find any information about it. Is it suppose to mimic a Mariachi look? haha

    • Noelani says:

Yep that’s exactly what it is. The word is an alteration of Jalisco, a Mexican state from which the mariachi culture originated.

I made this set a while ago for kicks when it was introduced. If you want to cap off the look get http://www.wowhead.com/item=9446 or any of the other rapiers that share the model. Then you will look like Don Carlos.

For any of the Haliscan items. Any ideas? Has Blizz made a change? The toon I am attempting to tmog is a level 85 Forsaken Mage. Thanks much. 🙂

    • Noelani says:

Sadly, as it has no stats, this one has never been transmogrifiable, and won’t be unless they drastically change the core transmog rules.
