Silvermoon City Guardian

Silvermoon City Guardian

Armor Type: Cloth
Level Req.: 70
Source: BoP boss drops and a world BoE
Availability: Challenging to complete

How to get the set:
The Silvermoon City Guardian set requires some perseverence to complete, with regular Sunwell runs required to pick up the two key components, the chest and the shield. The shoulders are also a potentialy challenge to obtain, as they are a BoE world drop. Your best shot at finding the mantle is, as always, scanning the local AH! Luckily, the boots are easily farmed and the sword can be obtained with relative ease if you raise your Shattered Sun reputation.

Silvermoon guardians are probably the hardest to copy, as their armor set including their unique shields have nothing similar available for players. This means this set is just an idea for what a player imitating a Silvermoon Guardian could look like, as looking like the real thing at the time is impossible.

Shoulders – Embersilk Mantle (BoE world drop from level 34-40 creatures)
Chest – Robes of Ghostly Hatred (BoP tradeable item from Yrma on the Isle of Quel’Danas, requiring Robes of Faltered Light and one Sunmote. The Robes of Faltered Light drop from Entropius in Sunwell, with a 15% drop chance)
Feet – Fire Striders (A 20% chance BoP drop from Balnazzar in Stratholme)
One-handed Sword – The Sunbreaker (A BoP vendor purchase from Eldara Dawnrunner    on the Isle of Quel’Danas, requiring revered reputation with the Shattered Sun Offensive faction)
Shield – Sword Breaker’s Bulwark (A BoP from Felmyst in Sunwell, with a 14% drop chance)

To the right, you can see how a Silvermoon Guard appears ingame.

For the sword you dont have to grind reputation to be able to get it. You can simply make a blood elf rogue. They start with a sword that looks like that. Much easier

I think the Sin’dorei Warblade would work better than the Sunbreaker, given its length.

It’s a perfectly good option for appearance, but we chose not to use the Sin’dorei Warblade as it’s a two-hander and thus only fury warriors could use it with a shield, which we consider an important feature. On top of that, when we wrote this article, Blood Elves couldn’t even be warriors, so we had to make something aimed at the paladin demographic!
